Imagine if you could use the same candle over and over again. It seems like a pipe dream. After all, don’t we live in a world where things just run out?
Well, not so fast. Imagine getting candle refills in the same way as you can get them for your coffee machine. Then, you’d be in business!
That’s where Etties Candles comes into the picture. Recently, we had a brainwave. We wondered whether it was possible to invent a refillable candle that you could just replace when it wore out. Once the old wax and wick burned through, you could replace them with a new one.
Because of this idea, we are working on a new product line. We are making a candle based on our hand-made ceramic pots that you can refill by placing a new block of wax or wick in, and expect them to be ready by September 2024.
The amount of money that this concept could save you is tremendous. Instead of replacing everything (including the gorgeous ceramic surround), you only swap out the consumable elements. New wax and wicks would only cost pennies, whereas bespoke casing is much more expensive.
That’s not the only benefit of this new idea, either. It’s also more eco-friendly and sustainable because it eliminates the need for new ceramic vessels every time a candle burns out. It also lets you hang on to your most aesthetic candle casings.
